Our Future
Invested in what matters most, Collins Capital is a family-run business focused on direct investments in private companies, real estate, and capital lending. We’re growing our portfolio through astute acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and value creation—engaging with passion, integrity, and experience to forge lasting relationships and deliver strong outcomes.
Our Beginning
Hard work, honesty, entrepreneurship, and discipline—these are the guiding principles that Paul and Karen Collins used to establish Collins Industries Ltd. (now Collins Steel) back in 1984.
With just one welding truck, Paul and Karen took their company from humble beginnings and grew it into a leader in structural steel fabrication. Over the decades, Paul continuously sought out larger jobs while Karen oversaw the company’s finances and administration. They had five children and now have 12 grandchildren—passing down their values through the generations. Today, Paul and Karen have turned their attention to charitable endeavours and support organizations worldwide through the Collins Family Foundation.
In 2017, Paul and Karen’s daughter, Kim Collins, and her husband, Satpal (Tony) Bhurjee, founded Collins Capital to diversify and grow an investment portfolio that incorporates the family’s founding principles and improves the lives of its stakeholders. Collins Capital now proudly owns Collins Steel in partnership with its management team.
